“… It takes spiritual warfare and personal responsibility for prophecy to be fulfilled in the life of a Christian.” David Popoola.

Did you know prophetic words are very powerful when it comes to spiritual warfare?

Life is not a party, but it’s a battle. God out of His mercy has given us spiritual weaponries such as praise, the blood of Jesus, the word of God, our testimonies, obedience, and words of prophecy that help us fight our spiritual battles and give us victory.

Life is not a party, but it’s a battle

According to 2nd Corinthians 10:4,” For the weapons of our warfare are not [a]carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds…” we ought to understand that behind any physical occurrence, there is a spiritual explanation. This is because life is purely spiritual, and anything that manifests in the physical realm is as a result of the spiritual which is spiritually discerned. Therefore when it comes to physical battles, they are to be dealt with from the spiritual aspect.

When it comes to physical battles, they are to be dealt with from the spiritual aspect.

For this article, we will deal with the words of prophecy.

“This charge I commit to you, son Timothy, according to the prophecies previously made concerning you, that by them you may wage the good warfare, having faith and a good conscience, which some having rejected, concerning the faith have suffered shipwreck, having faith and a good conscience, which some having rejected, concerning the faith have suffered shipwreck,” 1st Timothy 1:18-19.

A word of prophecy is a powerful weapon for spiritual warfare against the enemy which spells freedom, breakthrough and deliverance over one’s life.  Prophetic words aids and inspires, makes us fearless in our struggles and give us grip in the terrain of faith.

Words of prophecy may come from a preacher’s sermon, a spiritual authority, reading of a personalized written word, and through one in the office of a prophet. You can use words of prophecy to attack other prophetic strongholds or defend yourself.

Spiritual warfare is very important because we obtain the blessings that are only acquired through it. There are some blessings we acquire simply because we are children of God through Christ (Romans 8:15-16) and some blessings are manifested by contending for them (Matthew 11:12).

It is therefore very dangerous to leave the prophetic word hanging/ failing to act on it; because it’s a piece of spiritual legislation that requires enforcement – “Therefore we must give the more earnest heed to the things we have heard, lest we drift away. For if the word spoken by angels was steadfast, and every transgression and disobedience received a just recompense of reward; How shall we escape, if we neglect so great salvation; which at the first began to be spoken by the Lord, and was confirmed unto us by them that heard him;” Hebrews 2:1-3. So how do we wage war using the prophetic?

HOW TO WAGE WAR USING THE PROPHETIC

We wage war using the prophetic by decreeing the words of prophecy by saying them aloud. “Then he said to me, “Prophesy to these bones and say to them, ‘Dry bones, hear the word of the Lord! This is what the Sovereign Lord says to these bones: I will make breath[a] enter you, and you will come to life. -Ezekiel 37:5-6.

By praying with words of prophecy just as in Isaiah 41:21 “Present your case,” says the LORD. “Bring forth your strong reasons,” says the King of Jacob.” We also wage war with the prophetic by repeating what has been spoken over you, and lastly by thinking on the prophetic because our thoughts shape our speech, actions – Proverbs 23:7“For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he: Eat and drink, saith he to thee; but his heart is not with thee.”

Here are some few prophetic verses you can use in your life; Isaiah 58:12, Isaiah 60:1-2, Psalm 112:1-3, Job 36:11, Psalm 92:12-13, Isaiah 54:12, Psalm 105:24, Psalms 71:21, 2 Corinthians 9:8 and Isaiah 8:12.

Anytime we receive words of prophecy to our life, let us not neglect them, but act on them. “Therefore we must give the more earnest heed to the things we have heard, lest we drift away. For if the word spoken by angels was steadfast, and every transgression and disobedience received a just recompense of reward; How shall we escape, if we neglect so great salvation; which at the first began to be spoken by the Lord, and was confirmed unto us by them that heard him;” Hebrews 2:1-3.
